The Thing in Six Panels...

The rules for Little White Lies Magazine's 'Kick Ass Creative Brief' were simple: adapt your favorite film in just six comics panels. Above is the final version of 'The Thing in Six Panels'. Art and letters by Bolt 01.

The Way of Flesh and Other Juicy Bits...

My short story 'The Way of Flesh' has been published by flash-fiction ezine Microhorror.com. Visiting the site is sure to be well worth your while, as in addition to 'The Way of Flesh', there are hundreds more morbid morsels to snack on before bedtime.

In other prose news, 'Lord of Sores' took first place in Dark Horse's most recent online short story competition. 'A Sad Day in Cog-World' did the same in last month's 2000AD forum contest, while 'Death Shed a Tear' placed second the month before. My novella 'Extermination Theory' (more on this in a separate post) will be published as a serialized story-comic starting in issue #1 of Starscape Magazine this summer.

Dead is Dead...

'Romero's Living Dead in Six Panels' was created for the Little White Lies 'Kick Ass Creative Brief' contest, and sums up the entire 'Living Dead' series from 'Night' to 'Diary' in just six comics panels.

Conor Boyle provided the brilliantly atmospheric artwork. Here are a couple of panels to...er...whet your appetite until I post the completed strip.

First Things First...

Dum-dum...dum-dum...

'The Thing in Six Panels' was adapted for the Little White Lies 'Kick Ass Creative Brief'. The rules were simple: translate film to comic in six panels.

After kicking a few ideas back and forth with my partner for the project, Bolt 01, it was decided to go for a quick-hitting comics 'trailer' of the movie. I wrote the script and Bolt 01 provided the outstanding artwork seen above (I've only posted the single panel, sans lettering, so not to give away too much just yet - I'll post the complete strip when the contest is over).
