Rise, Mekko-Sapiens...

'The Mekko-Sapiens Uprising' is a story about science merging with religion and mankind rediscovering its humanity through synthetic means. 'Long ago, we tired of being men,' one of the characters laments, 'and we wanted to become gods. But now that I am a god, I want nothing more than to be a man.' (art and letters by Dave Candlish)

The 10-chapter 'Uprising' begins in Paragon #7, end of this year.

Violence on the Rek Fen-Birn Plains...

All of these weird little...things...feature in the novel I've been writing sporadically over the past year. Adapting one of the scenes to a comic strip has given me the fresh outlook on the story I needed, and that has certainly reinvigorated me. Maybe I'll actually finish it now!

Edit 9/14/10: 'Rek Fen-Birn has been picked up by Krazybov Comics and will see print in 2012 (issue #9, so I'm told).

War of the Worlds...

Martians meet Headhunters in 'Third World/Fourth World'. The one-page 'Future Shock' has been entered in Mark Millar's online competition. Matt Soffe provided the illustrious illustrations, and the ever-prolific Jim Campbell lent his touch to the lettering.

Update 05/11/10: The strip will appear on the back page of the next Something Wicked magazine. This is the first time a script I've written will appear in glorious color!

The Big Secret Comic...

For the past several months I've somehow managed to keep my lips sealed about the Big Secret Comic Project I've been involved with. However, with its release date looming I've noticed a few teasers floating around the internet - so the least I can do is post one here! Except...I'm not sure if this makes keeping the secret a secret difficult or more difficult.
